Tell us how your operation normally works
These settings become the starting point for every new plan.
Normal opening hours
Each date in the calendar will start with these hours.
Normal planning rules
Set once, adjust when needed
Opening hours and planning rules are copied into every new planning period. You can still change individual dates later.
- No repeated setup
- Date-specific exceptions
- Same rules across Forecast and Schedule
Forecast demand for your planning range
Check the dates you are forecasting (they are filled in from Capacity when you come from there), choose where the demand comes from, then fine-tune the daily shape and calendar.
1. Which dates are you forecasting?
Pick how long to plan for and when it starts. The forecast, calendar and schedule all use these dates.
2. Where should the demand come from?
Choose the closest normal daily shape
Select the graph first, then fine-tune it below.

People
Add names and key dates so capacity and scheduling can use real hire, training and leaver information. Skip this if you only need simple counts.
Agent roster
Download a template, fill it in, or add people one by one.
Training end is when they become fully productive. A leaver date is used by Capacity instead of a guessed attrition rate for that person.
Capacity plan
Plan headcount across the year. Pick a range or month below and forecast its demand. When the forecast is ready, come back and click Size from forecast to start the plan from the people that forecast needs. Attrition only removes someone when the running total reaches a full person.
Choose a range to forecast
Pick a length and start date, or click a week or month heading in the plan below. You can still change the dates on the Demand page.
Plan settings
Help me set attrition
How many full-time people do you expect to leave each week? ShiftPilot converts that into a weekly % against your starting headcount.
Attrition is tracked as a running fraction. A full HC/FTE is only removed in the week the cumulative total reaches 1. Months use real calendar months — a week that starts in late August and mostly sits in September is counted in September.
Build and review the rota
Edit shifts separately, then use Performance for the detailed weekly results.
